We were up at 5:00 a.m. hoping that Cache would sleep until it was time to go. No such luck.
He woke up.
I was teary because I couldn't give him anything to eat or to drink.
But...he fell back asleep in the car.
(thank you)
We drove through the early morning before the sun was even up.
We were at Primary Children's at 6:30 a.m.
Above: Cache's comfort items
Soft blanket from Grandma Bourne
Lamby from Auntie Karma
I asked them if Cache could keep his lucky socks on.
(Mostly for my comfort)
They said yes and the socks were a huge hit with everyone ;)
Isn't this the saddest/cutest picture you have ever seen?
I had no idea they had hospital gowns for little babies.
Cache was not to happy at all and he just wanted me to cuddle him.
In the waiting room.
See that cute baby in the background?
She was getting surgery that day too.
She was iddy bidddy.
Notice Cache's face, he knows something is up.
Our bracelets that we wore so we could get our son back.
Steve decided to throw the x-box controller in there....
Thanks babe.
LUCKY ME!!! I got to wear a mask...
because I was sick, pretty darn sick.
The view from the windows.
I LOVE how temples just pop out, they are SO beautiful.
This morning was a bit drab, and then
BAM
on the mountain top you see Oquirrh Mountain Temple
AT LAST!!
I was able to go back and see my little guy.
He was pretty drowsy and he really wanted that orange stuff off of his arm.
He pulled through fabulously!
In post-op consultation Dr. Wallice told us he would be in a lot of pain.
Give him medicine when he gets home.
He'll be drowsy.
He won't stand or walk for a couple day.
We got home.
.Cache napped for one hour more.
Cache woke up.
Cache laughed.
Cache unloaded the drawers (as normal)
Cache stood up,
Gave mommy a heart attack when he fell
...Cache was just fine and did his usual, "Uh-oh" sound as he landed on the ground.
Then, I changed his diaper and
OUCH!
It looks so painful.
But you would never know this tuff guy had surgery.
He is walking SO much now,
Wait, walking?
More like running!
You do such a good job on this blog Krista, I love it. The sad picture did make me tear up a little.
ReplyDeleteSo cute and sad at the same time.. I didn't know Cache was having surgery what was wrong? I would have come to see you!
