....ummm, SCARY!
I woke up in the middle of the night to one hot little Cacherz. He has been sick since last Saturday. Fevers, coughs, runny nose, stuffy nose, hershey squirts, vomitting, the works! Thursday he seemed to get better, Friday Steve said he slept the majority of the day and last night well,
things got worse. My eyes were even sweating.
We called the doctor last week and he had told us to count his breaths. So we did..
1...2...3
I held my breath...
....55...56...57
This 1 minute was taking FOREVER!!
....71...72...73...74
We took his temperature, 104. We gave him Tylenol, it didn't go down.
We arrived at the ER at 3:20 am, it was totally empty in the waiting room.
Cache's temperature was still 103 and the monitor kept beeping because his breathing was so rapid.
Poor Cache HATES doctors, hospitals, nurses, etc. since his little surgery. Which can I tell you how awkward it is explaining to people what he had done. I am positive that they feel just as awkward after as well. The reason of that little diddy was because I was telling the nurse about Cache's phobia after the surgery and well....of course she asked what he had done.
I need to remember the medical term: Orthioplexy, instead of my...
"umm...well, he had an undescended testicle." I just don't like that last word. Ugh.
Every time someone other than Steve or me walked into the room he whimpered and held on to me a little tighter.
They sucked his nose with a tube to test for RSV.
They took a chest x-ray.
And before we left, they took his temperature one more time...
...in the bum!
I was little bit ticked because I am positive that they did so because there was a student there learning how to do things. I even pointed out that they took it by his ear when we got there and there was perfectly good hi-tech thermometer right there in the room. But no. She didn't even have a good reason taking his temperature down south, I say that because she didn't really say anything at all. She mumbled something as to the fact that Cache is still little enough to where she can do that to him.
After all that he has a bad case of Bronchiolitis. We can take him to the Bronchiolitis clinic whenever we what to get his nose sucked by this pretty efficient nose sucking machine.
Seems like our trip to the ER was quick right?! NO! We didn't get home until 7:00 am. Steve and Cache are still sleeping it off.
