Merry Christmas to all and to all a Happy New Year!
This Holiday Season was a blast. It was so much fun to see Cache enjoy all that the Holidays have to offer. And, it was amazingly nice to have more time to get the Christmas shopping done.
The Holidays started off with the news going crazy with reports of the GREAT BLIZZARD of TWENTY-TEN. Freeways were closed down, some schools let out the students early and people were buying several supplies to survive this treacherous storm that was just hours away.
Me...I was off to get my hair done.
Family members were calling me to tell me that I should cancel my hair appointment. That didn't happen. Then they also told me to pack up my family's things and head over there for the night. After several (and I mean several) calls and warnings of what the storm could bring, I exited the freeway early to stop at home to pack my family's things. A nice fire and lots of family did sound like a good way to start the Holiday Season. Even if this stop did threaten to make me late for my appointment.
At the salon, the ladies were all terrified that they would not get home safely. There were minute by minute reports about the storm. The owner even contemplated closing early. I looked out the window and....nothing. I was really anticipating something big, but my gut told me it just wasn't going to happen.
5 hours and 24 missed calls later, I was on my way out of the salon. As I was driving there was a horrible, strong gust of wind accompanied by hail. I was a lil' bit scared. Then 10
seconds later it was gone. Pretty sure I drove through the worst of that storm.
Two days later and 0 inches of snow it was Thanksgiving.
This holiday season was also momentous because we participated in Black Friday. All of us, even Cache Money. Steve and I were about to leave along with my little sister, Mandi, when Cache come flying down the stairs with his boots saying, "let go guys!"
So He came with us.
This was his Black Friday outfit, minus the marshmallow coat.
We were going to Old Navy and we left at 11:30 p.m. and guess what, the line was looooong. loooong is an understatement, but I can't think of a ridiculous enough word to describe what I saw. So we went to the mall and stopped at Aeropostal. I bought a much needed jacket and Mandi bought a lot of jewlery.
Will we go to Black Friday again? Probably not. But kudos to those literally camping outside of Best Buy in 12 degree weather. I hope you got some amazing deals.
This holiday Season was also around the time Cache caught a car fetish. Now he always has a car in hand.
We often arrived home late from parties and Cache would still be wide awake...
Sorry Cache embarrassing picture to you, but adorable to me ;) Especially since your face says, "Mom...seriously?"
Cache used the potty for the first time this season. He isn't potty trained yet, he just decided he wanted to try it out. He waves bye to whatever is in there.
We were at my parents house and Cache was just dying to go outside. So I bundled him up and we went out there. He just wanted to swing...
Until he fell asleep...
In his little boots, puffy coat, cute hat and a red nose.
My best friend came home from her mission!! Cache and I got together with some friends to prepare a proper welcome home house. This was also on the day of my first snow day ever!
There was lots of snow to play in
Then it was the annual Santa Party.
Always one of my favorites.
Cache is looking sharp for the Santa Man.
Cache and Gwenie were matching. I ♥ when this happens.
We also attempted to take a picture of all of my Grandma and Grandpa Nitta's Great- Grandkids on the mainland...
This is why I say attempt.
Then a ho-ho-ho and a couple of jingle- bells later...
Santa had arrived and Cache was so brave and determined. He walked right up to Santa.
Later in the evening Santa pulled out a singing frog. Cache thought it was cool and went right back up to Santa to propose a trade. Santa didn't take but I think Cache was pretty happy with that because when Cache opened his present he saw...
The only type of doggie we will ever have in our household.
The next night was Christmas Eve and over to my parents house we went to open some presents. Cache didn't want to stop for pictures he just wanted to PLAY!
At one point I told Cache, "come open a present." He said, "No, I need to play."

Then we went home and Cache fell asleep in the car. I am positive this was very helpful to Santa Clause.
Cache started humming at 6:00 a.m and I was also anxious to wake up so we woke up Steve and headed out to the living room to see what Santa brought.
Cache has made Christmas
Exciting, Enchanting & Magical
for me all over again.
I have always LOVED Christmas but it has been awhile since I repeatedly woke up in the middle of the night only to be disappointed that morning was still hours away.
Christmas seems so far away, but I am sure it will sneak right up on me again.
Love,
The Bournes
