.Euphoria.

eu/phor/ia

a feeling of happiness, confidence, or well-being sometimes exaggerated in pathological states as mania.

YAHOOO!!! School's out for the summer!! Yay!

Yesterday was officially the last day of school. I have now taught for 2 years. Crazy.
On my way home from school I had my music blasting and I was singing...oh boy was I singing. And yes I had many funny looks but you'd have to be a teacher to understand this feeling. So I called my cousin Dorie (who finished her 1sth year and did a spectacular job!!) to celebrate with me...I also called my husband who may have had a ringing in his ears from my cheering. I was crazy with excitement!

When I got to my mom's house I ran (in my 5" zebra stilettos) to celebrate with Cache. I get the whole summer with Cache!! YAY!! That is the most important, most celebrated purpose of summer for me. It is not the easiest thing working and being a mommy.

This year was definitely memorable. I had 29 fun, outspoken, students. Each is so unique. It is funny because even the ones who came in super shy left with huge personalities. I hope they keep it that way.
I was pregnant and had Cache which made me even more sensitive to the fact that the world is harsh to these children and some of them try to grow up to fast or by circumstance they have to. This is the age where they start to choose their path. I hope some of them take a hike through life and find a better one.

To my students of 2008-09 I will miss you!! Don't forget who YOU are! Remember:

Do not sacrifice what you want in LIFE for what you want in the moment
and
Courage is doing what ir right when everyone around you is doing wrong.

On to the next year!! I have so many ideas spilling out of my mind I've been writing them down on anything writable. I will also be moving classrooms.

Goodbye room 16.

Also there will be MANY changes next year.

Goodbye best principal ever.
Goodbye best facilitator ever.
Goodbye Heather, Heather, Sara, Nancy, Marjorie and Celeste.

But my main focus right now is....

Cacher the Splasher

Like I said...Cache loves bathtime. Now, he loves him some water to splash with his buff baby legs. Our guest bathroom has gone from a relaxing, Hawaiin inspired room to...towel mania. Towels covering every inch of the floor, the counter and the cupboards. Why? Because ALL of that is in the splash zone. I am soaking wet by the time Cache is done bathing. I wouldn't have it any other way. I love it because seeing Cache have fun as he does the CUTEST things, are priceless. For example he will go stiff and then all of the sudden he'll go crazy splashing. He will always have at least one splash round when he focuses on his feet and he'll watch them go in and out of the water as they splash...then he'll stop give me a huge open mouth smile and start again. He will watch himself splashing in the mirror and laugh. When he gets tired he stops, gives a sigh of satisfaction, looks around and starts again.
10 Steps to bathing Cache:
1)Put Cache in the tub (not the bathtub...his baby tub that he is getting to big for. We already tried the other way and he hated it).
2) Wash Cache's hair while he sucks on his hand or my arm. Whichever is first to get latched by his mouth.
3)Wash the rest of Cache while he smiles at himself in the mirror
4) Scoot Cache back up (he tends to slide)
5) Get ready to take cover...basically you can't so you will get wet.
6)Watch Cache take a deep breath and get relaxed
7) (comes QUICKLY after step 6) watch Cache laugh and splash.
8) Vitamins...Splash some more
9)Scoot Cache back up...more splashing
10) time to come out of the bath...often followed by satisfaction or crying. Satisfaction if he feels he was given sufficient bath/splash time or crying if he feels adequate time was not given.
Tired/Satisfied after lots of splashing
Checking himself out (notice all the water on the mirror)

Let the splashin begin! (Even MORE water)

MORE water and dad shirtless due to the excess amounts of water.

Happy Birthday!

Today is Steve's Birthday!! He is 23 years old and I love all 6 ft. 4 inches of him! He is ridiculously amazing and he is always helping me out. He is an amazing father and jumped into the role quickly and perfectly. Steve is making being a mom all the more better. He helps me with diapers, baths, changing...the works! All without me having to ask.

Feel Free to skip the following paragraph:
I love you more than you will ever know. I appreciate all you do for our family.
You are an amazing man, leader, student, father and husband. You make me smile everyday even on the worst days. You are the most considerate caring person I have ever met. I love the team that we are...I know that I always have your full support and I hope you know you have mine.

P.S I still love you. ;)

Happy Birthday You Wonderful Man You!! (You have such a cheesy wife...geez).

Without A Stroller

Last night while Cache was sleeping, Steve and I had a good talk. I realized we hadn't just chilled and talked for awhile and it was oh so nice. One topic of conversation was all the stuff we have going on in our lives. We were thinking about all of our friends who sleep through the night unless they are studying for finals, people our age who are dating and going on crazy adventures when Steve said the funniest thing. This "thing" made reality totally set in and made us realize that when Cache came, our lives changed drastically (in a good way I might add).

Steve's Line: I couldn't even go hang out with my friend because I didn't have a stroller!

He said it so seriously and then we just busted out laughing.
Why did he need a stoller you ask? On Tuesday he took the day off to watch Cache and to help me with my "returning to work transition" and his BFF, Isaac, called to see if he could go to the mall. He could've too but I had the stroller in the Aura which I drove.

So yes we are in our twenties going on forties. =)
