Cache,
On Tuesday you had your check-up and shots. You were brave, mommy got teary eyed during the shots. You now weigh 14.3 pounds and you are 24 1/2 inches tall and you are a very healthy boy. After your shots I held you and you were so frazzled you sucked on your arm so hard you still have a huge hicki. But you stopped crying really fast and you were fabulous the rest of the day. You were a bit of an opihi but I loved it.
Your dad and I gave you several baths that night. Not just three either...FOUR! The doctor said to let you be in the bathe longer than usual to help with your shots. You were just chillin in the bath when all of the sudden you let somethin out of your cute lil' bum. We washed your tub, washed the carrier, filled the tub and put you back in. You were happy to go back into your freshly cleaned tub with nice warm water but you did it again. We repeated the process you waited patiently. You were in the clean tub not more than 10 seconds when this happened again. I lifted you out so fast I was soaked. We once again repeated the process. Back in the tub again I washed you so quick and good thing to because...you guessed it. How does all of that fit inside your little body anyways? Well, your dad showered you off with your little spa shower thing, you loved it. Thank you for being such a good boy and not crying when it was time to get out of the tub.
I Love You!
Love,
Mom

Bath time Antics
Cache LOVES him some bath time! When 7:00 p.m rolls around he knows it's time for a bath. If we don't have him ready he gets a little bit ticked but it's okay because he is so stinkin cute all of the time, but especially during bath time. He smiles, stares at himself in the mirror, "sings" and he just recently discovered splashing. Last night Cache was splashing as usual but this time he would splash, look at me, and smile like he was showing me a cool trick. He kept doing it so I called Steve to come and watch our talented son. When Steve came in Cache was all tuckered out from splashing so I said, "Cache will you show mommy one more trick?" Sure enough a stream of shi-shi comes up and curves over his bathtub into the sink followed by a HUGE open mouth smile. Oh yes and Steve rolling around laughing on the floor.
Thank you Cache for listening to mommy. Thank you for aiming for the sink and not the counter or floor. I sure can't do that. But I sure love YOU!

Cache's Caravan
Cache was spoiled by his Aunties, Uncle and Grandma during our stay at their house. He even had his own caravan! Wherever Cache would go Mandi was right there holding his raintree mobile right above his head, then there was Tj following close behind playing songs for him on his guitar. Auntie Mandi also read him lots of stories AND even held the mobile over his head during diaper changes. What an Auntie!

My Smiley Baby
Once Cache started smiling he hasn't stopped. I love it! All I have to do is look at him and he will make the biggest grin. He "talks" a lot now too and he has lots to say.
I can not believe he is already 2 months old!! April 21 was the big mark. I love him soooo much!

IRELAND
Steve is in Ireland...what a lucky. These aren't pictures that he has taken on his trip but they are places I know he will be going. Try not to be jealous...
A nozzle malfunction and a variety of flavors
My husband is on a well deserved vacation in Ireland with my dad. Cache and me are staying at my mom's house, which is nice because I have some help. Cache has almost gotten use to all of the noise and the in your face attention (literally they are right in his face) and I am having fun spending time with my family.
Some funny things have happened here...many actually but the two that are on top of my list are Mandi's nozzles and Kami's gullible-ness (new word just for her).
First the nozzle malfunction...
I am a germ-a-phob especially when it comes to my child. Everyone knows this and I believe this is what led Mandi into denial about her sickness. Mandi had a stuffy/runny nose, tired, glazed eyes, her voice was funny and she had some coughs here and there. I woke up on Saturday morning to hear a nasally voice say, "Is Cache awake?" I immediately said, "Boo you are sick. "
She replied with an, "I AM NOT!" The rest of the day was she was trying to convince me she was healthy. Here were some of her reasons why she wasn't sick.
"Since we lost funding for science club we couldn't do science stuff so they made us dig for fossils in the sand. The sand is trapped in my nose and is making it run."
"Every time mom or dad leave on a trip I get a stuffy nose. Hmmm I don't know why, but it's not contagious."
HERE IT COMES MY FAVORITE!
"I was laying on my right side when I fell asleep and now my nozzles are all plugged."
Me: "Your nozzles?"
"Yes my nozzles."
I was telling my mom the story later and Mandi was listening and she chimed in with, "YES MY NOZZLES!"
Mom: "Nostrils Mandi."
"But everyone says nozzles."
Happily she still calls them nozzles. I say happily because it makes me laugh.
On to Kami...
When I was still in the hospital with Cache, Kami came to visit. I was feeding Cache and told Kami to look away while I put him on the other side (which they say to do to keep up milk production). I guess Kami went home and asked my parents why I did that. And of course my dad made up some kind of silly answer....
"Because each side is a different flavor. One is milk chocolate and one is vanilla."
After that everyone would say little comments here and there about it and I would play along.
"So what flavor did Cache get today?" my dad would ask.
Kami would just look at me anticipating the answer.
"Well I ate a salad today and some cookies so that is what he had. He liked the left side the most because it had the cookie flavor."
Last week Kami and me were playing Phase 10 when my dad came in and said something about my milk being sour and I replied with something about eating lots of sour patch kids. Steve, my dad and I looked at each other trying to keep from busting out laughing. Then Kami looked at all of us and I thought it was over she had finally figured it out but instead she said, "Are you cheating?!"
On Saturday night Kami and her cute little friend Nicole were at my mom's house and we were talking. They told me how one of their friends was looking in the freezer and grabbed some boob milk and said, "what is this" and when she realized what it was she threw it back down, a little bit grossed out. This made me say, "Kami remember that one time dad told you that there are different flavors in each boob and you believed him?"
Kami: "What? That's not true?! I told all of my friends that."
Nicole: "We were just talking about this like on Wednesday, she said that it's like if you ate cinnamon toast crunch and waffle crisp one side would be cinnamon toast crunch and one would be waffle crisp."
Kami: "Wait it's not true? I thought that is why babies like one side more than the other. You are sure that's not true?! What flavor is it then?"
Although Cache and I miss Steve so so much we are very entertained over here.

For Kami
Wow my lil sister is all grown up. At first I was just posting this for the fact that Miss Kami needed to be on this blog. ;) But as I was going through pictures I got a little tear. My tomboy little sister who hated to do her hair and despised shopping has turned into a fabulous young lady. I have so many fun memories with Kami...from bribing her with everything I had to let me do her hair when we were little (I even offered Bella Barbie!) to driving with her in the drivers seat (I came out alive) and of course those Kami moments that make anyone laugh until you lose a pound. She is fun to have around and I'm blessed to have her as my sister. Love you Kami!
Miss Mandi if you are reading this you are getting one too =) I will write it later because right now I have to go to sleep so I can take care of Cache. Love you Mandi.
Tj you'll get one too and I love you as well...you little ladies man you
Corey I can make you one too and love you too.
Cache looking a little bit hypnotized...we were watching Twilight.
Wal-Mart Woes and lessons learned.
In theory Walmart is a great place. Low prices and you can get lots of necessary items in one location. BUT it is always so so crowded and every time I go I seem to pick the wrong line, I see one of my students (that story is for another post), or something goes wrong.
Yesterday I had to make a trip to walmart on the way home from my 6 week checkup to drop off a prescription. Usually I go to Walgreens but seeing as the road to get there is closed for a year I had to change. I found a great parking spot...things seem to be going well. I go to the pharmacy and drop off my lil' piece of paper to a nice lady with a super crispy tan. "20 minutes" she claims. I decide to get some things (enough to delay my trip here for another month).
I walk over to the make-up aisle to pick up some mascara, on my way I stumble over a little leg. A little boy (probably 3) was just laying in aisle 3. His body was in the aisle by the shelf with his legs just sticking out in open. Luckily I didn't run over him with my cart. He did apologize and he let me know he was watching the rooftop for his mom until she came back (another reason I don't like walmart...there are always the craziest people).
While in the make up aisle choosing a mascara I hear, "Krista Bourne return to the pharmacy, Krista Bourne, Krista Bourne, Krista Bourne" could they say my name any more? I thought while my face turn red...oh yes they can 2 more times. OMG!! I walk back over, past the little boy who is in the exact same position looking at the same "roof top". I go to the counter and the crispy woman tells me she is out of the prescription and it won't be ready until tomorrow. Yay another trip to walmart.
I keep going with my shopping, my hubby was totally out of cereal that he likes (he will not eat special k which we are well stocked with) so I grab 2 boxes of his favorite stuff and keep going.
I was so relived to see a check out stand with just one person in front of me. Then it got even better! Another check out stand opened and the man waved me over...thank goodness! I just wanted to get out and get back to Cache. As I unpack my cart he comments:
"Looks like you're out of breakfast."
"Yeah."
"At least you have breakfast." he says in the most annoyed voice ever.
"Uh...yup."
Then he goes on to tell me about his breakfast woes. I am clutching my credit card ready to swipe and leave. When I did so the screen went to the zip code screen and started blinking. It was switching between the zip code and signature.
"It isn't letting me put the zip code in."
"go ahead and enter in your zip code."
I try to press the button and nothing.
"Go ahead and enter your zip code."
The man behind me with his bud light leaves making his annoyance and lack of time apparent.
"It will not let me, the screen is blinking."
"Go Ahead and..."
"Will you please just look at this."
Finally he comes out from behind his checkout stand and looks
"Oh ha, ha it looks like Christmas. "
First of all I had no idea what he meant, but later learned it was because of the blinking screen.
"Go ahead and punch in your zip code." He says AGAIN
Yes he WAS SERIOUS! Not only did he have to see that the machine wasn't working he had to see that entering in the zip code would not fix it.
FINALLY it started working and I was on my way.
When I reached my car I see a little girl looking just frantic.
"Where's the bird dad? Where'd he go? Is he okay?"
"I'm not sure it's okay lets go."
I could tell that this dad had had it with walmart as well.
"But I MUST FEED HIMMMM!"
"Okay"
As I unpacked my groceries I see the dad finish putting his stuff and grab a piece of bread, grab his daughter's hand and they go hunting for the bird. There are about 50 birds in the parking lot and they approached three but it wasn't the same bird.
"Lets feed this one. This is him." The dad says sweetly, you can tell he really wants to leave.
"That is not him. My bird is special." I could tell this little girl was having the time of her life. She had the biggest smile on her face and I think it would be safe to say she would remember this day for a long time.
I'm not sure what happened but bless that dad's heart. When Cache wants to play or do something like that after a long walmart trip (or anything else) I am going to step up. Kids grow up so stinkin fast, you have to cherish every moment. Even if it means chasing pigeons through a walmart parking lot.
What did I learn?
1.You can cherish your children, love them, help them to learn or you can leave them laying in an aisle at walmart.
2.You can choose to let an annoying experience get you down and annoyed or you can just let it go and chase pigeons. ;)
3.And who can forget this...be grateful for your breakfast.

Growing So Super Fast...
Our baby has lost that newborn cry and he is getting bigger everyday. At his two week check up he had already grown 1 1/2 inches, gained back his birth weight plus 5 oz. Cache smiles at us (the first smile was on the 23rd of March), constantly checks out his surroundings, loves looking out the window, likes to play peek-a-boo and he can also make the most heart breaking frown ever. Not only can he frown he knows how to use it! Two nights ago I put him down in his crib and he immediately opened his eyes and frowned. He eyes went all big and he looked up at me with one of those tender baby squeaks that lets you know a cry is on the way. I couldn't fight it, I had to pick him up right away. He lovingly rewarded me with smile.
oooh those smiles I love them.
Tomorrow my little baby will already be 6 weeks old. I can't believe it! Time is flying by.
Ok you can definitely tell that I am a blogger newbie. I tried to put the pics side by said with captions underneath but when I post it, well it messes up. I am going to go to sleep now because I have tried to fix it too much and I'm going to be getting up in a couple hours.
